How to Play
Fliff Superstars is a peer-to-peer Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) contest format offered by Fliff. Participants compete against one another by building lineups of athletes and selecting whether or not the chosen athletes will outperform or underperform their statistical projections during real-world sporting events.
To build a valid contest entry, you will need to take the following steps:
- Choose two or more athletes from two or more teams, and select Over or Under on any of their statistical projections. Each statistical projection will have a corresponding Selection Multiplier which is based on the likelihood that the athlete achieves that projection.
- The combination of Selection Multipliers for your entry will result in a Contest Multiplier.
- Choose your Entry Fee after you’ve added the selections to your cart. Finally, choose between a Max Play – an entry that must have all winning selections to win a prize – or a Flex Play – an entry that can have up to 1 losing selection and still win a prize.
- Submit your entry and you will receive a Contest Score equal to the product of your contest multiplier and entry fee. The contest score represents your maximum ranking in the contest for a Winning Entry.
Your entry is now in an active contest competing against entries made by other Fliff users to win a share of the Guaranteed Prize Pool (GPP). The GPP is the total amount that will be paid out to Winning Entries at the conclusion of the contest. You can track your entries in the “My Picks” section of the app for real-time status of your selections and progress.
Contest Prizes
Once all of the athletes in your entry have completed their games and the results have finalized, your Winning Entry will become eligible to receive prizing.
There are two ways to receive prize winnings for a Winning Entry:
- All Winning Entries will receive a Winning Entry Payout equal to their Contest Score. This payout occurs immediately once a Winning Entry settles.
- After all entries in the contest have settled, your entry becomes eligible for an Extra Prize Payout. After all Winning Entry payouts, the remainder of the GPP will be distributed proportionally to Winning Entries based on every entry’s Contest Score.
- In the Contest Details section, you can view the ranked Contest Scores of the other Winning Entries to see how your entry stacked up and validate your Extra Prize Payout.
The sum of your Winning Entry payout and Extra Prize Payout represents your Total Prize Payout for a Winning Entry.
General Rules
- Customer can cancel entries as long as ALL of the following conditions are met:
a) the entry has been placed in the last 10 minutes,
b) none of the games in the entry are or have become in-play,
c) none of the multipliers on any of the selections have changed. - For all picks, overtime is included in the final stats (unless otherwise specified in the app or sport-specific rules). Shootouts/penalty kicks are not.
- For second half scoring projections, overtime is included unless otherwise specified in the sport-specific rules.
- All minimums, maximums, and multipliers are subject to change without prior written notice.
- Fliff does not recognize protested games and overturned decisions.
- All sporting events must be played on the scheduled date, unless otherwise specified. If an event is postponed and/or rescheduled or there’s a change of venue, all selections from that game will automatically constitute ‘no action’ and voided (unless sport-specific rules state otherwise). All entries will be recalculated excluding that selection of the entry (e.g. a 3-pick entry becomes a 2-pick entry).
- All contest scores are calculated using the selection multipliers at the time of submitting the entry.
- In the case of an obvious error on the posted projection or multiplier, scheduled time, or maximum entry amount, entries will be deemed ‘no action’, and all funds will be credited or refunded accordingly. 'Obvious error' will be at the sole direction of Fliff, supported by differences in projections and multipliers in comparison to market data at the time the entry was submitted.
- In the event of a settlement error or in-game stat correction, all selections will be corrected to the proper outcome at the discretion of Fliff. These corrections may result in a change to customer funds balances if winning entries are affected.
- Dates and start time of events shown are for guidance purposes only. For any reason an entry is inadvertently accepted after an event or match has started, the selection(s) affected will be made void.
- Athlete statistics and game data for in-play events are shown for display purposes only. We do not guarantee their accuracy and recommend checking with other sources instead of using them to inform decisions on making selections. Selections will not be voided or refunded due to discrepancies or inconsistencies in statistical or game data display.
- Stats are official after:
- Soccer – 90 minutes of play – Overtime and/or Penalty shots are not included
- Football – NCAA & NFL – 55 minutes of play
- Basketball – NBA – 43 minutes of play
- Basketball – NCAA – 35 minutes of play
- Hockey – NHL – 55 minutes of play
- All other sporting events – 55 minutes of play
- All contests that involve a scheduled length of play time or time limit must be played to their conclusion or have five minutes or less of scheduled playing time remaining when the contest concludes to be considered official for stats prediction purposes.
Scoring and Payouts
Fliff uses statistics from third-party data vendors for the purposes of providing game results and real-time entertainment value to its end users. Fliff may change third-party providers from time to time without notice. For more information, please contact Fliff customer service at support@getfliff.com.
Live scoring updates are strictly for the enjoyment of Fliff customers. Fliff’s official scoring validation process begins once all games are final. This process ensures that Fliff’s scoring matches official stat providers when contest results are finalized and paid out.
Once contests are finalized, the entry will move from Active to Settled on the MyPicks tab.
Stat Corrections
On occasion, official scorers may issue a stat-correction after games have ended and the official scoring validation process has completed. These corrections are rare, but can occur days after a game is played. Any changes to official scoring that occur after contests have been finalized will not impact those finalized contests. Conversely, if a correction needs to be made after contests are finalized due to an error with the data feed or the finalization process, while extremely rare, the finalization process (including payment) may be reversed and re-settled correctly. Such decisions will be determined solely at Fliff’s discretion in the best interest of our customer experience.
Selection statistics and their outcomes are intended to align with final game box scores at the time of contest payouts, independent of contest payout timing for other DFS operators in the same sport and involving the same games. While rare, it is possible for a final stat amount on Fliff to differ from other DFS operators based on when contests from each format were finalized and paid out.
Note: The official scoring validation process is solely to ensure that Fliff’s contest results are determined based on official scoring. Delays during this process may occur as a result of data collection or other technical difficulties. Fliff will not attempt to make judgments on scoring rulings, and changes will not be determined based on website links to alternate scoring sources, posts on social media, or videos sent to customer support, or other related citations or disputes.
